MHA KY QPR

Can I Get This Training During COVID-19?

Absolutely. The QPR Institute is allowing instructors to do the training virtually at this time. Your physical health is important to us, too!

Who Should Take This Training?

Every adult should take QPR. It’s a short training that saves lives. The more people we have trained, the better.  However, if you have recently experienced the suicide of someone close to you, this training may not be right for you right now. Experts suggest waiting at least 6 months after experience the loss of a loved one before someone takes this training. That advice goes for community groups as well. We can talk about doing it sooner, but we want you to be aware that there is risk of triggering grief responses, including anger, if we do it too soon for you or your group.

Thanks to a federal SAMHSA grant, distributed by Kentucky DBHDID, we are offering FREE Question-Persuade-Refer Trainings.

Suicide Prevention Training

Question-Persuade-Refer

QPR is a 60 minute suicide prevention training that has been proven to save lives. You will learn to ask the Question: “Are you thinking about suicide”. You will also learn methods of persuasion for getting someone to seek treatment. And then you’ll learn where to refer individuals who are contemplating suicide, or maybe who are not there yet but do need help. (Additional information: QPRInstitute.com)
