What Siblings Need: Five Tools for Raising Healthy, Resilient Brothers and Sisters in Autism Families

December 19, 2025 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Free

Raising a child with autism affects the whole family, and parents often carry the quiet, heavy worry that their other children may grow up feeling overlooked, overburdened, or responsible for everyone else’s emotions. Many parents describe feeling torn in two places at once: wanting to protect their autistic child’s needs and wanting to make sure siblings’ struggles do not go unseen. This free, compassionate, and practical webinar is designed to help families navigate strategies for addressing these concerns.

Join Dr. Megan Braconnier-Krupa and Dr. Rachel Buehner as they share five evidence-based tools for nurturing healthy, confident, emotionally supported siblings in autism families. Drawing on clinical research, lived experience, and real-world stories from families, this session will help parents:

  • Understand the common emotional experiences of siblings in autism families, and why these experiences matter
  • Build family routines that balance everyone’s needs without guilt
  • Strengthen communication so siblings feel seen, heard, and supported
  • Reduce resentment, anxiety, and role confusion among siblings
  • Foster resilience, connection, and healthy identity development over time

This webinar is for any parent or caregiver who wants to raise siblings who feel loved, supported, and emotionally whole, while honoring the unique needs of their autistic child.
